Rhino3D – Level 2
Program description Version 21 January 2025
Course objectives:
Become proficient in the use of Rhino 3D (intermediate/advanced).
Students that complete the course successfully will have learned to:
– Customize toolbars and toolbar collections
– Create simple macros
– Use advanced object snaps
– Use distance and angle constraints with object snaps
– Construct and modify curves that will be used in surface building using control point editing methods
– Evaluate curves using the curvature graph
– Use a range of strategies to build surfaces
– Rebuild surfaces and curves
– Control surface curvature continuity
– Create, manipulate, save and restore custom construction planes
– Create surfaces and features using custom construction planes
– Group & ungroup objects
– Visualize, evaluate, and analyze models utilizing shading features
– Place text around an object or on a surface
– Map planar curves to a surface
– Create 3-D models from 2-D drawings and scanned images
– Clean up imported files and export clean files
-Use built-in Rhino rendering tools
Syllabus:
The course will cover:
– User Interface configuration
– Macros (simple)
– Modelling and editing shapes
– Import tools
– 2D aspects of modelling
Software of reference: Rhino3D
Course venue / delivery mode: Webinar, Remote
Duration : 6 x 3.5 hours, total 21 hours
Prerequisites:
– Successful completion of Rhino 3D Level 1 course
– Participants must have Rhino3D installed, operational and licensed (trial license ok)
Teaching Method: Worked exercises, follow the teacher.
Evaluation Method: The training course is non-certifying. The instructor monitors the participants’ progress via an evaluation table.
