Orca3D – Advanced Stability

Program description Version 21 January 2025

Course objectives:

Become proficient in the use of Orca3D Advanced Stability.
Students that complete the course successfully will have learned to:
– Model the compartmentation of the ship
– Assign contents to compartments
– Generate tank tables
– Select stability criteria from the Orca3D Criteria Library
– Define loading conditions
– Compute intact stability with liquid loads
– Generate Reports

Syllabus:

The course will cover:
– Hull compartmentation
– Intact Stability with liquid loads
– Damaged Stability
– Reporting

Software of reference: Rhino3D, Orca3D

Course venue / delivery mode: Webinar, Remote

Duration : 2 x 3 hours, total 6 hours

Prerequisites:
– A suitable understanding of ship stability theory
– Participants must have Rhino3D and Orca3D installed, operational and licensed (trial license ok)

Teaching Method: Worked exercises, follow the teacher.

Evaluation Method: The training course is non-certifying. The instructor monitors the participants’ progress via an evaluation table.
